TAILOR-MADE PROTOCOL

Tailor-made Pet Relocation Protocol

Unusual pet, and no off-the-shelf import route? Led by a former AFCD Senior Veterinary Officer, we run a risk assessment against international standards such as WOAH (World Organisation for Animal Health) and help you agree new, workable import requirements with the importing and exporting authorities.

Who needs a tailor-made protocol?

The cases a general agent cannot handle

There may be no off-the-shelf import requirements for your case — applying a template can mean refused entry, quarantine, or even being sent straight back.

Senior pets

Older pets are more sensitive to the journey and to new surroundings, and need a dedicated health assessment plus a gentler schedule.

Pets with chronic conditions

For pets on long-term medication or regular check-ups, the itinerary has to be built around their medical needs.

Rare / endangered species

Parrots, reptiles and similar species involve CITES permits, extra quarantine and additional approvals that a general agent may not know how to handle.

Multi-country routing

Transiting a third country brings in several sets of import requirements — get the routing wrong and your pet can be refused entry.

What is different?

General agent vs tailor-made protocol

General agent

  • Applies a template rather than your actual situation
  • Says it can’t be done when there is no off-the-shelf requirement
  • May not know how to handle unusual breeds, senior pets or chronic conditions
  • A paperwork mistake can mean refused entry

Canlife Tailor-made Protocol

  • A former AFCD Senior Veterinary Officer runs a WOAH-standard risk assessment
  • No off-the-shelf requirement? We agree workable requirements with the authorities
  • Complex cases made simple, with a specialist overseeing every step
  • Documents approved first time, avoiding delays and extra cost
The protocol

Assessment → Documents → Quarantine → Approval

  1. Assessment

A former AFCD Senior Veterinary Officer assesses your pet’s condition, disease risk and the destination authority’s requirements against international standards such as WOAH.

  2. Documents

Official documents, permits and health certificates are prepared to your case and checked item by item.

  3. Quarantine

A quarantine timetable plus vaccination and testing arrangements built to international testing standards.

  4. Approval

We agree a new, workable set of import requirements with the importing and exporting authorities, and clear approval in one pass.

  • WOAH-standard risk assessment
  • Negotiation with importing/exporting authorities
  • A new, workable set of import requirements
  • Quarantine / vaccination and document package
  • Official document review
  • Contingency plan
